From Dec 14th 2007 all domestic residential property offered for sale must have a Home Information Pack (HIP). The HIP must contain an Energy Performance Certificate or EPC, which can be provided by a Domestic Energy Assessor ( DEA ).

The Energy Performance Certificate will rate your home from A-G. The certificate will also offer advice on how to save energy around the home. If the advice is followed, the householder could cut their energy costs by up to £300 per year.
